Beacon Challenge
The
Ivybridge Beacon Challenge is the 2nd individual race organised by the
club each year. It is a multi-terrain event that takes place in September
each year and as attracted around 100 runners in recent years.
The 2008 race will be held over the same course as in 2007, starting
and finishing in Victoria Park, Ivybridge. The new route excludes the
river crossing and the most difficult woodland paths from the old course.
It still retains around 7.5 miles of woodland and moorland paths,
including the ascent of Western Beacon.
The Race HQ is located at South Dartmoor Leisure Center.
The race is an ideal warm up for the Autumn Trail Race.
